Luzviminda Keene

Minda and her Harp.

Luzviminda Keene studied piano performance at Wesleyan College in Macon, Ga., with Edward Eikner. She then continued her piano studies with Barbara Lister-Sink at Salem College, which highlighted the injury preventive technique. She was trained in Somatics and Alexander technique, and yoga which she applied to her playing. She also studied piano with Ruskin Cooper and began harp studies as an adult with Patricia Pence Sokoloff.

During college Minda began teaching piano and founded MindaMusic in 2000. The mission was to be a community music school in which music would be taught to be fun and enjoyable so that learning would be successful. Minda has been a private instructor for over 21 years.

After moving to Dallas, Minda then played with Cindy Horstman's jazz ensemble at Brookhaven College. She enjoys playing special events and funerals and loves teaching!

"Minda's Daily Philosophy"

"To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children, to earn the appreciation of critics and endure the betrayal of false friends, to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave this world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or redeemed social condition, to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived, this is to have success." -Ralph Waldo Emerson
